In 2009, my life changed dramatically when I fell down an entire flight of stairs, resulting in serious injuries and a closed head injury. At the time, I was a typical middle-aged medical model RN, managing a nursing home and dealing with my own health issues, including being overweight and managing lifestyle diseases like Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
But the truth was, I was a stressed-out mess. My long commute, difficult marriage, and challenges with my teen son had taken a toll on me. I was constantly trying to keep everything together, and my mind was always analyzing and worrying.
After the fall, I began to struggle with mobility, cognitive challenges, and chronic illness. Pain pills and muscle relaxers barely touched my pain, and I was desperate for a solution. That's when I discovered mind-body practices and began exploring them as a way to manage my stress and pain.
Through my own journey, I became an expert in stress management and mind-body therapies, acquiring numerous certifications in these fields. Now, as a speaker, mentor, and change-agent, I'm passionate about helping others to shortcut their path from stress to wellness.
